Do You Believe in Miracles? includes a scientific appendix with references to published research on catatonia. After publication, I reviewed those references against the original papers and found errors in the author attributions.

The research itself is sound. The links and DOIs in the book lead to the correct papers, and the findings described in the appendix are accurate. What was wrong was the credit—in some entries, author names were listed incorrectly, and in two cases the journal was named wrong.

These are my errors and I want them on the record, in part because the people who did this work deserve to be named properly.

Corrected citations

"Catatonia Eight Years After Head Injury" (2016) is by Groysman, Nam, Vo, Rocha, Cvetko, Kim, Al-obeidi, Cho, and Bota — not Groysman, Nam, and Shah. Dr. Robert G. Bota is the senior author.

"Catatonia Following a Traumatic Brain Injury: A Case Report with Positive Findings After an Ativan Trial" (2017) was written by Daniel C. Indorato as sole author. The three names listed in my appendix are not associated with this paper, and Dr. Indorato was not credited at all. I regret that particularly.

The 2021 case report on catatonia associated with post-traumatic stress disorder is by Ahmed, Elbeh, Karim, and Khedr.

"Catatonia After Cerebral Hypoxia: Do the Usual Treatments Apply?" (2014) is by Davin K. Quinn and Christopher C. Abbott, published in Psychosomatics.

The 2024 study on pneumonia risk in catatonia is by Meng, Zhou, Zhao, Wang, Yin, Liang, and Ji.

"Catatonia in The General Hospital: A Case Series Wading Through Diagnostic and Management Challenges" (2022) is by Najam, Mansoor, Hafiz, Shafique, Hambal, Gul, and Nadeem.

Berthelot, Cambre, Erwin, and Phan (2024) was published in Case Reports in Psychiatry.
